The R's follow the D's: "Vote for person who that's most likely to win, not the person you actually want to win."
The R's will lose the same as the D's did.
Brownback, who is probably closest in positions (as near as I can remember) to Huckabee, is clearly employing this principle in these two quotes (gleaned from the news article linked by your blog title):
"You've got a wide-open primary, and you have various people who are ideologically acceptable _ not perfect, but ideologically acceptable," Brownback said in an interview Wednesday with The Associated Press.
"If they're acceptable and can win, that's better than losing," Brownback said, speaking by telephone on a campaign swing through Iowa with McCain. "I think you're seeing a more pragmatic expression taking place."
At least the D's waited until AFTER the first caucus and first primary to throw their champions under the bus. The R's have seemingly decided to toss their champions under the bus before any party members speak.
Forget voting, let's just let the pollsters tell us who we want. They are are scientists, I'm sure we can trust their impartiality.
By the way, "tintinnabular" is a great word! I wasn't sure what it meant (though it did ring a bell) so I had to look it up.
